Regardless, i enjoyed this one and I do want more, as I really like these types of plot twists stories where at first everything seems so mundane and 'default' and then BAM! I was expecting everything, but not the twist you did here with the clientele, great stuff!
Excited to see what the final game will offer. But you got me very intrigued with this demo. It will also be fun to see how many of my predictions end up true. :D
I saw the trailer for this a while back and had a suspicious feeling in the pit of my stomach that this was going to be one humdinger of an indie gem. I was ecstatic to find out the demo was available and couldn't wait to play.
There's a rich narrative here, with characters that will stick like taffy on the roof of your mouth long after playing. Dialogue sounds like how real people would talk and there's a general feeling of foreboding throughout - who is the mysterious stranger demanding whiskey and how do events spiral out of control? The mechanics of the kitchen sim are pleasantly endearing and I simply can't wait for the full version to be released. WHEN WILL THE FULL VERSION BE RELEASED???
What kind of apocalypse is occurring outside the diner? The atmosphere that has been presented within the demo is reminiscent of a Twilight Zone episode prologue, and I was almost lulled into thinking that Rod Serling himself would pop out at the end and talk in his low, melodic baritone voice that we had stepped into another dimension.
With any good demo, this ended too quickly and left me wanting more. I have high hopes for this and will be doing a full playthrough once the full version is released.

Your deduction are correct, that's the way it all starts and connect with the other characters
On the voices the policeman is ai generated but it's placeholder, it will be replaced by an actor on the full game or even the next patch of the demo.
